Love should be easy

 

Bumped into him; my ex boyfriend 

All our struggles to prove good lives after that silly breakup

He plays with her in my front; all the action for me to watch 

PDA has them acting; doing everything he never did with me 

I guess love should be easy, at least all the hurt would go away 

Mercy in love, maybe my regrets wouldn't hit this bad

"I hope you find one like me"

"Better still, the best version of me"

His words after he blew it all away 

I lived in his world once, and history is in repetition 

Keeping us in this fake cycle, pretence when we actually have things to tell each other 

Love should be easy, would have resolved it long ago 

Still holding onto that shirt you intentionally left in my closet

Hope you found the scarf I secretly  packed in your bag

Makes me feel like you're so near, though living on fantasies

How relieving it  would be if only love was that easy 

If only we could talk it over and be what the future was to be 

Love should be easy
