Don't quit

I was told of a story but I later forgot

They showed me a visual of the story but I still forgot

Listened to the audio of the story, still couldn't retell it the following day

Then they gave me a pen

Wrote the story down and I have never forgotten it till then

Now that's the power of writing!

Hear not and sit, see not and relax, but write it and you'll never have to go back again

Write students and you'll live to retell the story again and again...

There's power in giving it a second chance

There's power in trying and trying, attacking in all sides

Sit not and feel defeated, always strive for the ultimate price

For the price is yours, not another person is better than you

Keep going friends...

Life is a series of ups and downs they say

With today you're at your lowest, tomorrow you're the one people are afraid to face

Break out of the cocoon, unleash that warrior you

The one to whom success is not something new, but an hobby

Do this and you'll never go back again

Our parents have invested in us Arambe

Boys and girls of the future, they have invested in us

Complete disappointed to them should we go back with only papers in hands

Study hard, do good, let's hold there hands afterwards

And celebrate success, good grades and grades honestly earned

Do this students and you'll have the best feeling ever

Cause sucesss is sweet, really sweet!

Support them and they'll give you the best

Be the parents they can count on and they'll pass in every test

Teachers to be friendly and helpful, that's the way to success

Let students propose ways to comfortably study and pass

Cause Arambe needs this, victory must come only through teamwork

Parents and teachers, support us and we'll do good...

So accept change students, lets do things in a new way

Study hard, let relationships and petty issues not block your way

And with this, success will come

It will come

It will...

Welcome Gumba

Let's make merry, a new dawn is here

Smile and nod in gaeity, our time has come

A gift from the Almighty Himself, one in who's leadership we shall overcome

One to whom ordainment has come

To fulfill the one job of making our home great

Lets make merry Arambe, let's dance in unison...

Unity has followed her here, let's welcome it

Purity of heart and doing good, let's apply

Change of scene the hardest part, let's all adjust

Let's accept change Arambe, try yet another way to success

Let's make merry, change is here

Leadership has brought her here

Feminine leadership, a chance to enjoy the beauty of it

Let the ladies smile more, the assignment is in your hands

And let the men giggle more, our mother is here; can't go bad

Feel free and let the Lion roar, feminine leadership will do much more

Let's all smile, maybe get ready for a smooth ride with Lucy

Let's make merry Arambe, our righteous mother is home

The community is expecting a lot

Curious to try new things, succeed in all forms

Everybody is happy with the new era, expecting new records

Succeeding in everything, being giants in academics

Sports men and women of tomorrow, it's our school they'll come from

So let us all make merry, Gumba is here to lead

So we must succeed

Take the new role with passion Gumba, here's your home

Unite and make bright, make happiness a norm

Change to your children be made friendly, let them perform

Your colleagues are your pillar, always draw them close

Unity is the key, righteousness the meal of the heart

Make us proud Gumba, make Arambe proud...

Welcome Gumba.

Religion

Not an atheist, but let's talk of religion

How it shapes souls, some say it makes you a slave in disguise

How to others a shield to hide their true self, thinking they're masters of advice

Religion is slowly loosing shape, destroyed by those who claim to benefit from it; all lies

So if you're a believer, make a prayer

Let religion be the key again

Or better still, read about it's origin; religion fights not culture

And if queries knock at your door, ask your culture maybe you'll find the answers...

Grace

Pieces of glass on the floor, the heart battles the greatest of wars

Sharp pebbles on the floor, the greedy in laws have made high scores

The psychos would call this; broken heart...

Meeting was held at the inlaws

Two weeks and there it was; massive words of truth of laws

"You're a disgrace". They called her an hyena pretending it can roar

Her name is Grace but never has she been shown any.

No grace and this is her fate

It's what the psychos would call light soul in the dark.

There's a specific conduct the "groom's" family want, she has it not

There's this one kind of lady the family prefers, Grace is not such

An inlaw not appropriate to them, need not poverty they say

They don't need adversity, no

Just there's, not Grace from another race

Not Grace.

Is my little me proud?

Sat on the coral at the beach

Memories echo in the breeze, maybe to confirm my faults

Remembered my little me, the one I don't think I can face right now

With all these faults, I don't wish to talk of him now

The me I failed

That sad me!

I look death in the eyes

Failure in my front, I'm always high

"Never will I raise the bottle to my mouth", that's me before night

Now I live in the night, the me who was ever might

The me who feared the night

The me who loves it now, runs away from the light

Is my little me really proud?

The me of achievements, me of no failure

Eyes so innocent, you'd see me in every mirror

And look back at yourself, I was the reference of real integrity

Me who was never guilty

The me who was ever proud..

That Happy me is now sad.

And that's so bad.

I Got So Good At Playing Nice. Made Them Think I'd Choose You Twice

Best dress to her, I had my worst on

Was her best day, to me one I wish I never lived

I saw it happen; part of me peeling off

The day I lost; part of me giving up

Could do nothing, just watch

Watch and watch

Happiest six months of my life

Had fun with him, thought I had no hill to climb

Trips and tips with him, thought had found mine

Only changed when the family came in, her mom to him: I wasn't worthy

Only changed when responsibility came;

I wasn't worthy

My learned half was the family pride

His mom controlled everything, his life, his love strides

Met him at the local company cafeteria, my pride

Lost him once I saw the mom, match collide

Pretends to love the other one now, his mother's bride

His mother's bride...

I saw it happen

The old scars deepen

Married the suitor he was given

Left me in the cold, I the suitor not given

I the love never loved...

I saw it happen...
